Nowadays Cold Fusion is called LENR – Low Energy Nuclear Reaction.

After the work from M. Fleischmann and S. Pons, “Electrochemically Induced Nuclear Fusion of Deuterium”, J. Electroanal. Chem. 261 (1989) many others scientists tried to find evidences of heat producion or products obtained by nuclear fusion reaction.

In 1990 several important works showed evidences that nuclear reactions can be produced which very little eficiency from electrolysis and pointed out conditions for reaction occurrence.

Between these works stands out “Electrolytic Tritium Production” by Edmund Storms and Carol Talcott – Nuclear Materials Technology Division and Material Science and Technology Division Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Tritium was produced in 11 cells at levels between 1.5 and 80 times the starting concentration. Over 1,500 tritium measurements were made on 53 cells of various designs. Tritium production is found to occur after times as short as two days after electrolysis is started.

See bellow other scientific studies early founded experimentally evidences (1989-1990) but in these 22 years from the first announcement many others is being published.

“Production of Tritium from D2O Electrolysis at a Palladium Cathode”,
“Cold Fusion Results in BARC Experiments”
“A Preliminary Investigation of Cold Fusion by Electrolsis of Heavy Water”
“Calorimetric and Kinetic Observation of D2-Pressurized LiOD/D2O/Pd Cells”
“Neutrons and Tritium from Cold Fusion in Pd-D”,
“Investigation of Phenomena Related to D2O Electrolysis at a Palladium Cathode”.

In 2007 Dr.Edmund Storms published his first book on cold fusion titled “The Science of Low Energy Nuclear Reaction: A Comprehensive Compilation of Evidence and Explanations About Cold Fusion”.

Besides Dr Storm we should mention another two distinguished scientists who themselves have been active in the cold fusion effort. Both Dr. David Nagel, a Professor at George Washington University (D.C.) and Dr. Michael McKubre at SRI in Menlo Park, California regard this book as a benchmark guide book that will serve scientists and students interested in cold fusion as a must-have reference for many years to come.

In 2009 another very strong evidence appear. USA Navy researchers led by Pamela Mosier-Boss using a special polymer where the neutrons were absorbed an image was formed as a hole with a triangle shape demonstrating neutron formation from the electrolysis

In may 2011; Dennis Bushnell a Chief scientist at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, announced “Low Energy Nuclear Reactions as being the most interesting and promising alternative energy technology being developed”. “If it does, this is capable of, by itself, completely changing geo-economics, geo-politics, and solving climate issues”. He stated that all of the so called, “cold fusion” experiments performed over the last twenty years did not produce fusion reactions. His position is that they produced energy via a process called “Widom Larsen” theory, that does not involve fusion at all, but only “beta decay.” “I doubt any of the current cold fusion theories are 100% correct, but the seeming fact is fusion is occurring!” This affirmation, in practice mean a tremendous indication the LENR is today the most promise scientific investigation of all time.

During a long time people tried to fly but only after scientific experiments made by Alberto Santos Dumont we have got the first Airplane. The “moto continuous” dream, in the same way, was searched worldwide before Carnot present the thermodynamic principles demonstrating its impossibilitie. After knowledge about atomic structure, scientists can transform one substance in another, which had been tried for centuries by the alchemists.

Now, we have a urgent challenge to discover an energy source capable to stop the hydrocarbon burning. Certainly, if Einstein was alive, he would say these physical principles become the most important subjects of the today´s world. Theory is essential for any modern development success and can point out the right way or simply show us we are dreaming as our predecessors when they saw the birds flying.

Will be the 2011 Rossi Experiment finally the solution ?
